Pre-Approval Information Exchange (PIE) Sessions
What is a PIE Session?
It’s an opportunity for pharmaceutical companies to share clinical and access information on medications awaiting approval through Pre-Approval Information Exchange (PIE) with pharmacists who meet the criteria of Health Care Decision Makers (HCDMs). The focus of these exchanges is to provide HCDMs with critical data for proactive planning on new cancer drugs before market approval.
These events occur in conjunction with the ATOPP Summit. There are two types of PIE Sessions: Live and Virtual.

FOR HCDMs
Are you wanting to attend a PIE Session?
Hear from Kristen Boykin, Director of Pharmacy Operations at Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute, on what to expect at a PIE Session as a Health Care Decision Maker (HCDM):
What is a HCDM?
You may be a HCDM if you are a:
-
Member of a formulary committee OR provide information to a committee that selects drugs to include on formulary or within treatment pathways (eg, P&T committee)
-
Member of a committee OR provide information to a committee that makes decisions regarding drug selection, formulary inclusion, coverage, reimbursement, clinical pathways, healthcare quality, patient outcomes, or contracting for health care organizations (e.g., integrated delivery networks, hospitals, health systems, GPOs).
-
Formulary decision maker for a payer by providing information for the purpose of making formulary decisions.
Pharmaceutical companies will conduct four concurrent 45-minute PIE sessions in private rooms, exclusively for pharmacist attendees meeting the sponsor’s HCDM criteria.
No employees from a competing pharmaceutical company are permitted to attend PIE sessions. A networking refreshment break will be available at this time for anyone who is not permitted to attend the PIE sessions.
